- Circulation all started with the idea to disrupt the legacy non-emergency medical transportation industry. Dr. John Brownstein and his partners, Robin Heffernan and Jared Hawkins understood that the traditional non-emergency transportation model was severely outdated. Transportation is a barrier to effective healthcare because the logistical framework is inefficient. The use of outdated technology and legacy bureaucracy results in patients missing appointments, last minute cancellations, inadequate vehicles and no-shows which ultimately impacted not only costs, but health outcomes. The more we spoke with John and his team, the more we felt we could bring our healthcare expertise, commercialization playbooks and mobilize a battle-tested team to incubate this venture together. We curated a bespoke team from our Klick ecosystem including software engineers from applied sciences team to build a HIPAA compliant platform over the ride sharing platform to ensure privacy. We pulled our experts to determine the go-to market and pricing strategies and also pulled talent from Klick Health to create the Circulation brand and mission. The result was a HIPAA compliance system that auto-populated patient contact and health information right into the health system records, enabling hospitals to schedule and manage transportation around patients' needs and preferences. All billing and payment reconciliation was seamlessly handled on the backend. Two years after Circulation was launched, we publicly announced that Circulation was fully acquired by LogistiCare Solutions, the nation's largest non-emergency medical transportation broker. The move will significantly advance LogistiCare central mission of reducing transportation as a barrier to healthcare. They're active in 3,000 health care facilities over 46 states, more than a million miles of patient travel. Patient satisfaction scores a 4.9 out of five. Cost savings of up to 70% and 95% of patients arrived on time. We are so proud to have helped pave the path to success for Circulation.
