In Lutukira, Tanzania, YOU will not only not only help the most vulnerable orphans in Ruvuma Region , but empower very poor villagers to improve their lives and economy in Hope Village--clean water, safe housing, health care center, vocational and agricultural schools, pre-school and residential family-style orphan housing. The Hope Village Health Care Complex Rotary Dispensary Opened on April 8th, 2021!
Songea's Kids is thrilled to announce that the Rotary Dispensary is open and providing health care services to local villagers in the Madaba District of Tanzania. Nearly 200 excited villagers attended the opening day. Hope Village Organization medical staff provided medical screening and care to those in need. This dispensary will have an enormous impact on the lives of up to 2,800 villagers in the area where illnesses such as malaria, typhoid, AIDS and many others are prevalent. The facility has professional staff on call 24 hours a day, and is fully equipped with diagnostic, laboratory, and treatment equipment and medicines. The facility includes a birthing center which will have a significant impact in reducing maternal and child mortality in the region.

Every now and then, something wonderful happens that just plain fills the heart. Songea’s Kids celebrates one of our children, Juma, a young boy walking with a crutch, whom we met during our trip to Tanzania in September. One day when working in the fields, he was bit by a snake, resulting in an amputation of the lower half of his leg. We obtained a sponsor for him, and he just received a prosthetic leg. It is so exciting to see him walk without crutches.
This is just one example of how Songea's Kids makes a difference. Juma's life has been transformed! We appreciate everyone's contribution in making these miracles possible, our volunteers, our board, our donors and especially our child sponsors.

Songea's Kids Philosophy & Financial Responsibility
Songea’s Kids works to empower local organizations to care for orphaned and vulnerable children in one of the most impoverished regions in Tanzania. Together with our local NGO partner, we provide for quality basic health, education and infrastructure needs of orphans and vulnerable children who might otherwise be forgotten, or worse yet, exploited.
Songea’s Kids connects Tanzania and international partners to work together so impoverished children and villagers can break the cycle of poverty and lead productive lives. We are supported by generous donors who we also serve by using their donations wisely to maximize the benefits for the children. We thank all of our donors who through their generosity have transformed lives and brought hope to our children for the future.
