Malham Tarn Returns - Loop #2 Starts and finishes at Malham Tarn car park. Touch the rock in front of the information board at the start and end of each loop. This loop begins by heading around the beautiful Malham Tarn before climbing towards Fountains Fell South Top. This is a quieter, more remote section with wilder peat moorland underfoot and more navigation required, especially in poor visibility. On a clear day, the higher ground gives fantastic views across the valley towards Pen-y-ghent. From the cairns on Fountains Fell, the route picks up the traditional descent and joins the Pennine Way for a fast, flowing return back towards Malham Tarn. A wilder loop with big views, open moorland and a proper sense of being out on the hills. An informal, self-supported route idea shared by Ultra Trail Collective. Not an organised event. Navigation, kit, safety and decisions are your own responsibility. 2.0 ON_FOOT_RUNNING UNKNOWN 19645.1572571 462.2300000 SINGLE Malham Tarn Returns - Loop #2
